Arrowhead Center Networking Mixer

New Mexico State University’s economic development hub, the Arrowhead Center, is growing to accommodate the increasing amounts of research and business being generated at the facility.

On Feb. 23, leaders from the Arrowhead Center will host a networking mixer to unveil the recently expanded and renovated Technology Incubator. The event starts at 4 p.m. and takes place at the Arrowhead Technology Incubator, Genesis Center C, 3655 Research Drive on the NMSU campus (click here for map). The new offices are on the site of the former employee health clinic.

The mixer will include a tour of the new facilities, as well as welcoming remarks from NMSU President Barbara Couture and Garrey Carruthers, dean of the College of Business and vice president for economic development. Jon Barela, the cabinet secretary of the New Mexico Economic Development Department, also is scheduled to attend the event.

“What I hope this demonstrates to the public is that NMSU is open for business and serious about commercializing technology,” Carruthers said.

The Arrowhead Technology Incubator assists technology-based entrepreneurs working within several key sectors, such as national and homeland security, energy solutions, space and aerospace, information technology, and high-tech discoveries. The incubator works to create an environment where entrepreneurs get the business assistance and support they need to take their ideas to the next level and evolve into profitable companies. The center accomplishes this by adapting its services to the particular needs of each client.

The multi-tenant, 30,0000-square-foot Genesis Center at Arrowhead houses the incubator and offers office space, as well as wired and wireless Internet service and access to conference rooms.
