Future opportunities in commercial spaceflight will be the focus of the September MVEDA Business in the Borderplex Forum. A panel of space professionals will discuss what is happening now and what the future may hold for Southern New Mexico. The panel will include Dr. Patricia Hynes of the NM Space Grant Consortium, Dumitru Popescu of ARCA Space Corporation and Christine Anderson of Spaceport America.

The forum will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces, 705 S. Telshor. The meeting will begin with a hot entrée buffet.

Advance registration is $25.00 per person, payable by major credit card via the secure portal on the registration form. Payment at the door with cash, check or credit card is $30.00 per person. Reservations are required. Registration closes Thursday, August 27, 2015.

About the Speakers
Dr. Patricia Hynes is the Director of the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium (NMSGC) and the Chair of the International Symposium for Personal and Commercial Spaceflight (ISPCS). ISPCS is one of the premier commercial space conferences and is celebrating its 11th anniversary here in Las Cruces.

Dumitru Popescu is the CEO of ARCA Space Corporation. ARCA Space Corporation recently announced that it will build a testing and manufacturing facility at the Las Cruces International Airport, creating 100 high-paying jobs over three years.

Christine Anderson is the CEO of Spaceport America. She is responsible for the development and operation of the world’s first purpose-built, commercial spaceport. Anderson was the founding Director of the Space Vehicles Directorate at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.
