Two of MVEDA’s valued private sector partners recently received recognition for their work in their respective fields.

Ed Camden, President of Southwest Steel Coil in Santa Teresa, has been selected the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Exporter of the Year for Region VI.  The Exporter of the Year award is given to individuals who have increased sales, profits and/or growth of employment as a result of creative overseas marketing strategies, effective solutions to export-related problems, demonstrated encouragement of other small businesses to export, voluntary assistance to other small businesses entering the export market, cooperation with other firms in the creation of export trading companies and/or introduction of unique trading relationships, products or services. SBA Region VI represents Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Dekker/Perich/Sabatini (D/P/S) has been named Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) Southwest’s 2013 Design Firm of the Year. Based in Albuquerque, the company has offices in Las Cruces and Amarillo, Texas. D/P/S performs a wide spectrum of roles on its projects: architectural design, landscape architecture, interior design, structural engineering and more. The firm has been a leader in sustainability for many years, with 23 LEED-certified projects and 17 more in the pipeline.  D/P/S is the first Design Firm of the Year honoree to be selected from New Mexico.
