The New Mexico Economic Development Department, in collaboration with the New Mexico Manufacturing Extension Partnership, is offering the New Mexico 9000 training classes to prepare New Mexico businesses to register for ISO 9001 certification. The first class is scheduled to begin on September 13, 2013 at the New Mexico State University Albuquerque branch, 4501 Indian School Rd. NE.

New Mexico 9000 was created by the Economic Development Department to provide training and assistance to New Mexico businesses in preparing for ISO 90001:2008. Training will be broken into six half-day sessions over a 3 to 6 month period.  

Funding opportunities are available for qualified companies. Qualifying companies can be reimbursed up to 50 percent of the of the class fees through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). The New Mexico 9000 training program has been completed by 165 companies, creating over 1,000 new expansion jobs.
