In a report from the U.S. Commerce Department today, New Mexico, ranks first in the nation in export-related job growth at 107 percent, well ahead of the closest runner up, Louisiana, at 66 percent.

As reported by the Albuquerque Journal, in the last five years local jobs supported directly and indirectly by state exports to other countries grew from about 8,000 in 2009 to 16,500 in 2014. This comes on the heels of other recently announced data from the U.S. Department of Commerce that shows New Mexico doubled exports to Mexico in just the last year alone, and set yet another all-time high in total exports for 2014 at more than $4 billion. This data shows that more New Mexico businesses are exporting more products to more places than ever before.
