The Las Cruces Small Business Development Center (SBDC) announced a series of free workshops aimed at local entrepreneurs and small business owners.  The workshops will be held at the Dona Ana Community College Workforce Center, 2345 E. August 16: 2pm-4pm -How To Start A Business Legally, Safely & Profitably:   Topics will include market research, registration as a business, and business planning

August 23:  9am-11am – How To Start A Business: You will learn the steps to legally own and operate a business. Taxes, licensing, business and marketing planning will be discussed.

August 30: 9am-11am – Marketing Your Business:  Whether you are a new or an established business it is difficult to determine where and how your advertising dollars should be spent. During this class you will learn how to achieve and deliver powerful, affordable and thoughtful business advertising strategies that use traditional advertising mediums. Social media and guerrilla marketing will be discussed.

August 30: 2pm-4pm -Writing A Business Plan:  Start with developing a plan for the future of the business, whether the plan is for the purpose of running the business or for presentation to a lending institution to get a loan for the business

Sept 6:  9am -11am- How To Start A Business: You will learn the steps to legally own and operate a business. Taxes, licensing, business and marketing planning will be discussed.

Sept 13:  9am-11am – Financing A Real Estate Rental Business: Whether you plan to start buying rental properties, or if you currently own them, learning the latest options in financing these properties can be an invaluable tool. This workshop is designed to give you a step-by-step process to obtaining financing.  We will also discuss, return on investment, capitalization rates, and other concepts that will help you determine property values.
