Southwest Aerospace & Defense Trade Compliance Forum – A Unique Education and Training Opportunity!

The US Commercial Service and the New Mexico Economic Development Department will host a unique education and training opportunity on April 4-5, 2012 at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces. This program is intended for anyone who deals with global trade compliance (including exports, imports, customs, logistics, business development, marketing, procurement, engineering, operations, security, human resources, contracting, supply chain…) and related regulatory, compliance and enforcement issues.

The Southwest Aerospace & Defense Trade Compliance Forum includes a seminar, networking reception, workshop options and a tour of Spaceport America.

Free Webinar – Doing Business in Mexico

The U.S. Commercial Service is holding a FREE webinar on doing business with Mexico on November 17, 2009 at 10:00 AM MT.  The Santa Fe Export Assistance Center would like to welcome the participation of any of the New Mexico firms that might find it of interest.  Speakers will include the Senior Commercial Officer (Mexico Region) Ann Bacher, the Principal Commercial Officer for Monterrey Geoff Bogart, a representative from FedEx to talk about shipping issues, and a representative from Zions Bank to discuss trade finance issues.  Also highlighted during the webinar will be an upcoming trade mission to Mexico in February.  If you are interested in participating in the webinar or the upcoming trade mission log on directly on the 17th to: http://www.buyusa.gov/utah/mexicowebinar.html

Export Methods of Payments and Export Shipping/Documentation Requirements Workshop – September 24, 2009

The New Mexico Economic Development Department’s Office of International Trade and the U.S. Commercial Service are hosting one-day workshop on Thursday September 24, on “Export Methods of Payment and Export Shipping/Documentation Requirements”.  Businesses who are interested in understanding export financing and shipping and documentation requirements are encouraged to attend.

Finance representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Export Import Bank of the United States will be making presentations on methods of export financing, export payment methods, and their agencies’ export finance and insurance programs. There will also be a representative from UPS and a local customs broker from Brown, Alcantar & Brown will go over important international documentation and shipping requirements.

Seminar Date and Time: September 24, 2009 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
