Senator Tom Udall’s office and the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA) will host a panel on Managing Water for Economic Development during the August Business in the Borderplex luncheon. The luncheon will be held on Tuesday, August 7 from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM at the Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces, 705 S. Telshor. The meeting will begin with a hot entree buffet.

The panel will discuss private industry’s role in water conservation and their needs and opportunities to address water scarcity. Participants include Intel‘s Director of Sustainable Business Innovation, Carrie Freeman;  Russell Hernandez from Olive Garden’s Green Team; Terry Mount from Dona Ana Community College’s Water Technology program; and a representative for the Border Industrial Association. Panelists will provide a 5-10 minute overview of their work in this field and then participate in a dialogue with the audience.

Luncheon cost is $20.00 per person, payable by cash, check or major credit card. The meeting is open to the public. Due to space constraints, reservations are required.
