The August High Tech Consortium (HTC) of Southern New Mexico membership meeting will feature Tracey O’Neil, program manager for many of the New Mexico State University College of Engineering K-12 outreach efforts. Tracey will discuss the BEST Robotics program, the New Mexico State VEX Robotics Competition, the Pre-freshman Engineering Program and summer camps- all designed to inspire students to pursue degrees in STEM-related fields. In the last year alone, close to 1000 elementary, middle, and high school students were introduced to the concepts of STEM through their participation in these programs.

The meeting will be on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Sonoma Ranch Golf Course banquet room from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

HTC membership meetings are open to the public. Anyone interested in growing technology in southern New Mexico is encouraged to attend. The price for meeting attendance (no lunch) is $5 and meeting attendance with lunch is $20.00 – check or cash preferred. For more information please call Terry Jack at 575-522-3868.
