In its monthly board meeting of July 15th, 2009, the MVEDA Board of Directors elected new officers and board members for the upcoming year. Doña Ana County will hold its first Spaceport Community Council Meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, in the commission chambers at the Doña Ana County Government Center, 845 Motel. Virgin Galactic's WhiteKnightTwo vehicle flew over the Las Cruces International Airport at approximately 9:30 AM MST on Saturday, June 20. Originally planned as part of the formal groundbreaking ceremony of Spaceport America on Friday, June 19, a minor technical issue with an actuator and approaching thunderstorms compelled the WhiteKnightTwo to stop in Phoenix. NAFTA Institute Trade Conference Huge Success
The 16th Annual NAFTA Institute "Supplier Meet the Buyer" Trade Conference attracted record crowds to Sunland Park, New Mexico on June 11-12.
